Whether you’re looking for alum powder to pickle vegetables or prepare art papers for marbling, it turns out that alum powder isn’t readily available in all major grocery stores in the San Francisco Bay Area. Fortunately, after searching for alum powder at Target, Sprouts Farmers Market, Whole Foods Market and the like, I was finally able to find it in the spice aisle at Safeway. Score!

P.S. It looks like Walmart sells alum powder too!
